UPDATE: POLICE have defended the actions of officers who shot two teens in a stolen car in the early hours of Saturday.
The Greens want the police watchdog to investigate as family members questioned "unnecessary" bloodshed, saying officers should have used a Taser or shot the tyres.
This comes as internet footage from the incident shows police appearing to punch one of the teens pinned to the ground.
