The musician was found dead inside his Las Vegas home Monday, according to Las Vegas Weekly.
Marth, 33, was killed by a gunshot wound to the head and his death was subsequently ruled a suicide, the magazine said.
"There's a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy," the band tweeted.
Marth played on two albums, Sam's Town and Day & Age, in addition to touring with the group in 2008 and 2009.
