Sydney Opera House (Sydney Opera House), a UNESCO World Heritage Site on June 28, 2007. This is one of the buildings of the 20th century's most distinctive and one of the most famous performing arts centers in the world. Sydney Opera House is located on Bennelong Point in Sydney Harbour, close to the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It lies at the northeastern end of the Sydney central business district (CBD), surrounded on three sides by the harbor (Sydney Cove and Farm Cove), and neighboured by the Royal Botanic Gardens. Sydney Opera House was built mostly by Danish architect Jørn Utzon in 1973. Utzon received the Pritzker Prize, architecture's highest honor, in 2003.
